COVID DEVASTATED SOCIAL LIFE
I agree with the fact that Covid was a tit for tat for human beings. Though it led to deaths of innocent people, dreadful situations in families, financial crisis and most importantly isolating one from the world. We are were locked in our houses just like a prisoner is locked behind the bars. But isn't it true that just like a prisoner is punished for his misdeeds we were punished for ours? And this was a result of human activities? Human nature? Human's avarice? Well, truly. But it led an unfortunate and undemanding impact on our lives which is what I would like to throw some light on in this post.
Coming to our social lives. It was perfect before Covid. I guess you remember how we spent once in a week inside the theatre, twice in a month staying at our grandma's place became a traditional ritual in every Indian house, attending marriages no matter whose wedding it is or how far your relation is with that person we will be going just to satisfy our yearn for gratuitous delicacies. Right after returning from school we would just keep our bag pack on the bed, grab and stuff food in our mouths and run to play with our friends. School is a place to learn new things but our moto was to only chit-chat with friends and get a tight scolding from the teacher. So this proves before covid we were more open and relaxed to people and our surroundings.
Post covid, I guess some superficial power vanished all these stuff. We don't play anymore with living people, instead we play with video games. When we chat with our friends on phones and laptop it seems we are talking to them and not to our friends.
There's a thought here:
The more we talk with humans, the less we feel stressed cause if gadgets could understand our emotions, God would not have created humans!
We have isolated ourselves so much that the only person we
love and care about is ourselves. Earlier people used to have the connection
with plants, nature if not with person. Still they felt warm and touched by
nature’s presence. But, nowadays we are so in love with our screens that we do
not really understand or even feel the presence of a living being standing in
front of us trying to communicate. We get so indulged in self-enjoyment and we
do not realize that thinking about ourselves will do no good to anybody but if
we think about others would do good to both, to the person and you yourself. It’s
a conflict between mind and heart. Your mind wants isolation and gadgets. Your
heart wants peace and that urge to talk to someone gets overpowered by your
mind.
This is what all of us are facing on a regular basis. It
might have been a problem for some since a long time but post covid this has
been a consistent and unvarying issue for majority.
Rewinding back to our three A’s what I believe is that we
all have accepted this change that took place after covid but we have not
adapted and accepted it. If we totally want to evaporate these changes from our
lives then we really need to adapt and accept it and then only could we be able
to disappear the print that covid left on us and reminisce the span before
covid which was priceless!
Thank You Peace💖
